Natakorn Kumsab is a police official in Chanasongkram Police Station,
Bangkok. His duty is to safeguard the security of local residents and
prevent criminal happenings. At the meanwhile, he also provides
services to foreign visitors to increase their understanding and
knowledge about Thailand. This is because Chanasongkram is
the place with most foreigners living over there.

Natakorn is from Chon Buri. When he was little,
he used to stay in Wat Sothorn for a period of time. His uncle
Phra Tie Sitthisophon was the former abbot of Wat Sothorn.

In his office, Natakorn has placed many Buddha statues,
including Luang Phor Sothorn, Phra Buddha Chinnarat, ganesha,
King Naresuan statue, Great Vishnu riding garuda by Phra A-Chan
Thong Chai from Wat Trai Mit etc.

He said that he worshiped many Buddha statues in his office
because he is a Buddhist who relies on Buddha in his heart and
he works with kind attitude. Seeing these Buddha statues could
make him peace and calm as he was an impatient person. During
his freetime, he would go to the temple to help out, chant, listen
to Buddhism doctrine, and medidate so he would be peace in mind
and filled with wisdom.

He only wears Buddha amulets on his body to remind himself to do
good deeds. His amulets are first batch of gold & copper Luang Phor
Sothorn amulet year BE2460, Phra Phong Supan old face version,
first batch of Luang Phor Ding or Prakru Pibulkanaruk coin from
Wat Bangwua, Luang Pu Pu’s birthday commemoration  Somdej in
nine-tiers with elbow bending edition. The last one was given
by the elder to him.

Natakorn believed in the efficacy of these sacred objects as he used
to escape from death. When he was young, he and his friend were
playing in a cargo ship in Bang Bakong River. He jumped off from
the ship into water but he was stuck under the ship and couldn’t
swim out. He thought he would be gone but he prayed to his
Luang Phor Sothorn amulet to save him. It was amazing he actually
escaped from death. He could feel that he was protected by the
divine again few times later.

Natakorn said that always doing good deeds,
do not kill animals, follow the Buddhist rules, good at doing good
deeds and be extremely virtuous could help us from felony charge
to misdemeanor. Natakorn would remind his subordinate to do good
deeds and good result will automatically come to them. Other
than that, wearing Buddha amulets make them do their work with
confidence and at ease.
