Chaoad Rungrieng, the president of the Executive Committee of Bang Phli Yai Town, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, is a Buddha-amulet collector. He had served as a village head in his earlier age, often visiting villagers, exchanging Buddha amulets and sharing stories with them.

The amulets he has collected include those made by Luang Pu Peuak Wat King Kaew, and every-edition amulets of the Buddha image Luang Phor To in Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai (Thai: วัดบางพลีใหญ่ใน).

The Buddha image Luang Phor To in Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, Samut Prakan, is over 200 years old and belongs to Sukhothai style. Width between knees 175cm, Luang Phor To sits in "Subduing Mara" posture (Thai: ปางมารวิชัย, "Pang Man Wichai"). Legend has it that Luang Phor To was originally found drifting in Chao Phraya River from the north, and the local people had the Buddha image enshrined in Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai.

Many popular Luang Phor To amulets were made by Luang Phor Muan, the former abbot of Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai. Among them the most coveted ones are "Luang Phor To—Three Lines on the Robe edition" (2496 BE), "Luang Phor To—Interior Wall of Ubosot edition", and "Luang Phor To—Three Kings (meaning: made by three kinds of metal) edition". It is said that soliders wearing "Luang Phor To, Three Kings edition" amulets gained great protection, successfully escaping disasters. Nowadays the Luang Phor To amulets of this edition are hardly seen and their prices stand high.

Luang Phor To amulets grant worshippers all-aspect assistances. In ancient times, people often had their children put on Luang Phor To amulets for protection; if the children fell in the water incidentally, the efficacious amulet would float the children.

"I am a deep believer in Luang Phor To," Chaoad said. "Before going out, I pray to Luang Phor To amulets and wear them. By doing good deeds, making offerings to monks, going to the temple to listen to sermons, and implementing Buddhist practices in daily lives, I have a peaceful life and mind."
