Temple Name: Wat Intharam Worawihan (วัดอินทารามวรวิหาร)
Current abbot: Phra Kru Suwimongthamsathit (พระครูสุวิมลธรรมสถิต)
Wat Intharam Worawihan houses the crematouriun of lateKing Taksin the Great. King Taksin always came to the temple for charity and practice. Therefore, there are many related artifacts of King Taksin seen in the temple now, such as the seat he used to practice and ashes tower of King Taksin and his queen.
The building history of Wat Intharam Worawihan was unknown. Its old name was Wat Bang Yi Ruea Nok. When King Taksin became the king, he had ordered to restore the temple. After he passed away in BE2325, his body was buried in the temple.
Wat Intharam Worawihan is classified as the third classof royal temple as "Woravihara".
The current abbot of the temple is Phra Kru Suwimongthamsathit (พระครูสุวิมลธรรมสถิต).
The main Buddha resided in the new ubosot is in Pang Man Wichai posture from Sukhothai culture. Its lap from knee to knee is about 308cm, known as Phra Phut Chinnaworn.
According to the recorded information, the timber merchant from north who brought along the Buddha statue and woods had come to Wat Intharam Worawihan. Phraya Srisahathep who was in progress of restoring the temple saw the Buddha statue and thus had requested from the merchant to enshrine the Buddha statue at the new ubosot.
