Rare & priceless amulets

Priceless amulets

Thailand Buddha amulets is originated from Theravada Buddhism and combination of "magic power"  from the local. The amulets are empowered artwork of eminent monks or masters and become the powerful talisman to Thais. Different types of amulets have different protection, such as to avoid from disasters, to gain wealth, romance encounter, ward off villains etc. A precious and perfect amulet is even priceless!

At the beginning, Thai Buddha amulets are distributed as a return gift from monks to donors for building temples and charity in poor areas.
Thus the making of amulets are to keep the donors safe.
The ingredients to make amulets include soil, incense ash, eminent monk's hair, and etc. During the making process, the monk will chant scriptures continuously and it will take about 10 days or even a year. In Thailand, we always heard of news that amulets protect devotees from dangers.
The numbers of handmade amulets are limited as number of eminent monks is rare. Therefore, there are also Yakushi or black magician making amulets. There are more different materials included in the amulet such as pollen, scripture ash, relics, holy soil, etc. The amulets also being chanted with scriptures during the process for at least 10 days and then empowered by monk. Then it is only complete.

The needs of people to amulets continue unabated.
Temples also respond to will of public, continue to make amulets and sell to disciples. There are hundreds type of amulets selling in Thai market. The location to purchase is now not limited to temples but also sold in malls or stores, even road stalls. The price range from a few dozen Thai bahts to millions.
If the amulet is made by famous eminent monk, the price of the amulet is invaluable.
