Luang Pu Key was born Chongpoonsri on March 24 2471 BE in Prue Town, Prasat District, Surin Province. At the age of 21 he became a monk on May 22 2492 BE in Thung Mon Town, Prasat District, Surin Province.
Luang Pu Key has practiced Buddhism, including meditation and magical skills, for many years with Luang Pu Cher Wat Phetchaburi in Thiu Khao Phanom Dong Rak (Dangrek Mountains).
Luang Pu Key masters in the enhancement and change of fortunes by the capping ceremony which a plateful of candle-wax-dripped holy water will be placed onto the head of disciples.
Sacred objects made by Luang Pu Key are known for the benevolence. Luang Pu Key is highly revered by his apprentices all over Thailand. In 2536 BE, he was upgraded to "Phra Ku Visuthikittiyan" (a title for great master) and in 2542 BE became a member of a Buddhist commission in Thung Mon Town, Prasat District, Surin Province. Now he serves as the abbot of Wat Srilamyong in the 4th village of Samut Town, Prasat District, Surin Province.
