Wat Kaewjamfa was located near the Charoen Krung Road and the bank of Chao Phraya River. It has been moved to the current address for there were more and more Westerners doing business near the original place, which brought crowds of foreigners and disciples of other religions, and spoiled the environment. Every day monks had to go out to beg for alms, but often met troubles and inconveniences.

Phra Kru Thawornsamanawong, the abbot at that time, worried that the temple might be sold as rumors swirled and noticing that the neighboring Wat Phra Ya Khai had been moved, pondered over how to address the problem.

According to the records of Krom Phraya Damrong Rachanuphap (2405 BE – 2486 BE), Phra Kru Thawornsamanawong had discussed with him about the temple's situation that the temple was constantly complained by western businessmen about the odor which came from dead human bodies waiting to be cremated; however, holding cremation ceremonies was one of the temple's revenue sources. In addition, it was inconvenient for monks begging for alms for they might be troubles by the wandering foreigners near the temple.

Krom Phraya Damrong Rachanuphap made suggestions to the local government of Bangkok that the temple be moved to the current address, which also gained the agreement of the abbot Phra Kru Thawornsamanawong.

Buildings of Wat Kaewjamfa, 104 years of history, looked so old that the current abbot Phra Kru Siriratwimon decided to have the temple renovated.

99 is the lucky number in Buddhism and the abbot has made Buddha amulets and statues of the Top 9 Great Guru Monks of Thailand-Luang Phor To, Luang Phor Ngen, Luang Phor Sod, Luang Phor Thong, Luang Pu Mun, Luang Phor Kong, Luang Pu Suk, Luang Phor Kasem, and Kruba Srivichai-for the purpose that disciples could enshrine these sacred objects by donating money, which could be taken as a good deed for disciples and as a fundraising method for the temple to renovate its building.

Every year, scholarships will be awarded by the abbot Phra Kru Siriratwimon to monks, sramaneras (young monks), elementary school students, and college students.
