Owning Amulets Has Become a Trend

Owning Thai Buddha amulets has getting popular now.
There are more people from Taiwan having these amulets nowadays.
The exterior of Buddha amulets are increasingly being particular.
It is not only stick to the original appearance in square or round size.
There are more fashionable elements added now such as coating with rose gold framing or silver necklace, which have now become a trend.

Buddha amulets are amulets with facial image of Buddha that can be worn by people.
In early Thai, monks who were in practicing would make these amulets as token of appreciation to donors for temple construction or school building.
This was the origin of Buddha amulets.

The monks hope that through the infusion of their power into the amulets, it can help or protect those kind-hearted individuals.
Therefore, the materials to make amulets are from items in temples or from the monks.


Metal & Powder made amulets
Basically there are two types of amulets materials. One is made by metal, which is from the replaced big bell in temples that are melted and made into molds.
Thai people believe that the big bell had been sounded through morning and evening worships, and sounded by worshipers wishes. Therefore it has unbelievable power.

Another type of amulet is made by powder. Its basic ingredients include the incense ash, flower powder, incense oil, soil under the temples and scriptures.
These materials are mixed together after grounded into powder and solidified into amulets.
During the making process, the monks need to recite mantra continuously as a form of blessing.

Sometimes, to increase the amulets power, monks would add in their hair or cassock with similar process of grounding into powder and mix it up with the materials.

Thais believe that amulets contain amazing power. This is due to amulets having the mantras power by the monks besides of materials made by sacred objects.
Amulets help to enhance one's career, wealth fortune, interpersonal relationship, power and etc.

Amulets emphasize on dharma, which it is the positive power that differs from stereotyping of black magic and little kid soul raising in Thai's folk. They are totally different and unrelated.
