Prasert Boonsong, the former Secretary of the Navy, now serves as a member of National Legislative Assembly, and the Chairman of Tourism Commission.
Prasert has been wearing Buddha amulets for over 40 years. He was presented by his father a powder amulet "8-tiered Phra Somdej elbows curving, made by Luang Pu Pu Wat Intharawihan" which is effective in helping someone become more endearing.
Sharing the efficacious story about his Buddha amulet, Prasert said that in 2542 BE, he, as a Chief of the Naval Staff then, was qualified for the promotion to the Deputy Secretary or Secretary of the Navy. However, a personnel change was announced that he would be the Assistant Secretary designate. He thought there were little opportunity for him to be promoted to the Secretary of the Navy because he had planned to go into retirement in 2545 BE.
Inconceivably, the miracle did appear. "I really couldn't find better words to describe what I felt about the efficaciousness of the Buddha amulet," Prasert said. "In the end of 2543 BE, I got promoted to the Secretary of the Navy. My friend made jokes that if it had not been the great magical power of the efficacious Buddha amulet, I would have missed the chance of the promotion. How mighty Luang Pu Pu amulets are!"
